Illustration for picture books
I am a mid life emerging illustrator – First time around I began in animation, making short films (on film) for Channel4 who kindly, repeatedly commissioned me following a residency in the Museum of the Moving Image. This launched me into animation studio life and I worked on a range of projects from TV series, commercials and all sorts of hand drawn moving image projects.
Then came motherhood, which took me off in many unexpected and varied directions ..and away from London. I think I read nearly every picture book available for my young ones – several times over.
So here I am on the edge of Dartmoor, Devon UK – running my now teenagers around, and looking ahead – I am reviving my creative career, this time as an illustrator.
Have to admit that I am somewhat relieved to be focussed on single images rather than the thousands required for animation and I am beginning to take my story writing seriously. I have a lovely agent Lucie Luddington who Im delighted to say landed me my debut, two book deal as author, illustrator with Big Picture Press in 2025.
